Whether I consider myself artistic or not, I draw on my creativity to express my love for God in the way I live, the way I rest, the way I work, and the way I create family and community

As I live make sure God is at the top of my life.

Zephaniah 3:17 (CEV)

The Lord your God… is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.

Theologian Tom Wright notes that Jesus involves His disciples in feeding the crowds. He writes, ‘The closer [I am] to Jesus, the more likely it is that He will call [me] to share in His work of compassion…’ ** Loving God inevitably leads me to greater love for others

Psalm 32

 Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be—

    you get a fresh start,

    your slate’s wiped clean.

Count yourself lucky—

    God holds nothing against you

    and you’re holding nothing back from him.

When I kept it all inside,

    my bones turned to powder,

    my words became daylong groans.

The pressure never let up;

    all the juices of my life dried up.

Then I let it all out;

    I said, “I’ll come clean about my failures to God.”

Suddenly the pressure was gone—

    my guilt dissolved,

    my sin disappeared.

These things add up. Every one of us needs to pray;

    when all hell breaks loose and the dam bursts

    we’ll be on high ground, untouched.

God’s my island hideaway,

    keeps danger far from the shore,

    throws garlands of hosannas around my neck.

Let me give you some good advice;

    I’m looking you in the eye

    and giving it to you straight:

“Don’t be ornery like a horse or mule

    that needs bit and bridle

    to stay on track.”

10 God-defiers are always in trouble;

    God-affirmers find themselves loved

    every time they turn around.

11 Celebrate God.

Psalm 145:8-10
Sing together—everyone!
All you honest hearts, raise the roof!
The Lord is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will praise you.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
“Are you tired?

Worn out?

Burned out on religion?

Come to me.

Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.

I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.

Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
